There is a growing awareness about the risks of depression and suicide among youth—across the nation and here in our community. But today’s empowered young people are actively involved in a solution.

You can play a part in this by attending Art 4 Awareness, an evening of performances, music and art, presented by Colie’s Closet, a non-profit peer organization comprised of Boulder Valley School District high school students, dedicated to educating students in Boulder Valley School District about depression and suicide, and stopping incidences of youth suicide.

Proceeds from Art 4 Awareness (and other fundraising events by this group) are used locally for education and treatment of depression and suicide prevention in youth.

Make plans to attend this inspiring event Thursday, April 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Dairy Arts Center, 2590 Walnut St. in Boulder. Visit coliescloset.org for more information on the event and how you can help this worthy organization.

The Daily Camera is proud to support Colie’s Closet and more than 100 other nonprofits in our community.
