Happy National Farmers Market Week! The month of August is also Colorado Proud Month, so Boulder County Farmers Market is merging the two for a month-long local celebration.

Farmers Markets are essential in our community. They support our local ecosystem, economy, health, wellness and help those who are food insecure. The food at the markets is grown and made by people you know and trust.

In these times, there is more than one way to shop your local farmers market. Options include attending the actual markets (you’ll have to follow a set of safety rules and wear your mask), pre-order for curbside pickup, or visit local farmstands.

You can find market schedules, safety procedures, pre-ordering instructions, and an extensive list of local farmstands with web links on the Farmers Market website at bcfm.org.

You can also learn about the Farmer Market’s weekly Colorado Proud Giveaway as well as the super fundraiser event Eat, Learn Drink by the Flatirons Food Film Festival.

If you’re on social media, give the Farmers Market folks a shoutout with hashtags #lovemymarket and #coloradoproud when you choose local food.
