You have probably seen Via buses as they travel around Boulder. Via is a full-spectrum mobility manager offering paratransit transportation and other services to older adults, people with disabilities and others living with mobility limitations. They recently partnered with Lightning Systems to convert a diesel-powered HOP bus into Boulder’s first electric, public transit vehicle. This repower is the first step in a plan to electrify the entire HOP fleet and recharge the buses off-grid with 100 percent renewable energy. Via operates the HOP bus service under a contract with the City of Boulder.

To celebrate this big step forward, you are invited to join in on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. to witness HOP #15’s big reveal and learn more about the infrastructure project that has made Via one of two Resiliency Hubs in the City of Boulder.

You can also learn about future plans to turn Via’s facility into a solar-powered microgrid.

Beer by Avery Brewing Company and light snacks will be provided and Boulder Valley School District’s Munchie Machine will be on-site during the event. Come out and join us at this free event!
