Hunger hurts, and it touches lives right here in Boulder County. But thanks to Community Food Share, hunger will hurt a little less this summer.

The CFS Hunger Hurts the Whole Community Food & Fund Drive, held on the first weekend of May, was a huge success, thanks to the generosity of friends and neighbors like you.

Julia McGee, director of communications for CFS, said, “I’m thrilled… we crushed our 30,000 meal goal for this year’s drive. The community donated enough food and funds to provide 63,330 meals! That’s an impressive leap ahead of the goal but also over last year’s results.

“Jill, John, Carol, Greg, Roxie and Karen… we are grateful for the Daily Camera’s continued commitment to this event and for press coverage leading up to and throughout the food drive.”

Matthew Zavala, chairman of the CFS board, enthused, “What an amazing community we live in! We doubled our goal of 30,000 meals! The Longmont Times-Call and Colorado Hometown Weekly, our Hunger Hurts founders, have shown 30 years of steadfast support in mobilizing the community around the event.”

Zavala also thanked the 166 CFS volunteers and, of course, the donors who donated food and money.
The results speak for themselves: Boulder County citizens care, and they time and again have shown their support for our communities.

Thank you, one and all.
