The Boulder County Fair is one of the most anticipated events of the year for many local families. This year—its 150th—will be no exception.

The first fair in the Colorado Territory was held in October 1869. The early 1900s brought steady growth to the Fair. Permanent buildings replaced the tents one by one. In 1921 a record-breaking crowd of 2,500 attended the opening day.

150 years from its first historic opening, the Boulder County Fair is still going strong. The fair remains one of just four nonprofit county fairs in our state, with a record 150,000 attendees last year.

Join Prairie Mountain Media as we honor the Boulder County Fair on its 150 anniversary of service to our communities. The Boulder County Fair Sesquicentennial Celebration Guide will be delivered to our 63,000 readers on Sunday, April 28 in the Longmont Times-Call and Daily Camera, with a bonus insertion in the Colorado Hometown Weekly on Wednesday, May 1.
