There are an estimated 1,500 homeless youth and young adults in Colorado. Attention Homes works in Boulder County and beyond to provide young people ages 12 to 24 with an opportunity to change their lives. They offer shelter, community-based living and life skills that this at-risk population needs.
You can help support their “continuum of care” by participating in Sleep Out | Dine Out | Shout Out fundraising events this month.
Sleep Out, the biggest event of the year for the group, takes place all night Thursday, Nov. 12. Suzzanne Painter, Attention Homes communications manager, says, “We have more than one hundred  community and business leaders pledging to raise one thousand dollars, and they will ‘sleep out’ in downtown Boulder on the lawn of our offices at Spruce & 15th.”
Participants include members from Boulder High School student council, County Commissioner Deb Gardner, Chamber of Commerce prez John Tayer, and teams from Google and Naropa. “We’re looking to go for 150 participants this year,” Painter says.
