Executives Partnering to Invest in Children (EPIC) will be joining forces with Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia and a broad coalition of Colorado partners to lead the 4th annual statewide book drive, Colorado Business Reads, for children from birth to 8 years old. The goal is to create public awareness of and support for the importance of summer reading with an adult. Your business can make a big difference in the drive by placing a collection box at your site and encouraging the donation of new and gently used books.

In 2013, Colorado Business Reads distributed 3,555 books from 22 collection sites to Boulder County children without in-home libraries. The Camera and Times-Call collected 934 books in our offices alone. We were proud to help then and are delighted to pitch in again this year by providing collection sites and sponsorship.

Helping couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is find a spot for the Colorado Business Reads box. Locally donated books will be picked up by community volunteers and distributed to families in need throughout Boulder County.

Reading to children is so important – for language acquisition, school preparation and a lifelong love of learning. EPIC hopes to give as many parents and children as possible the chance to learn and grow together with its upcoming book drive.
