On December 22, 1922, Foothills United Way was incorporated as the Boulder Community Chest. Over the years it has been known by several names: Community Chest, Red Feather Drive, United Fund, War Chest (during World War II), Boulder County United Way, and eventually Foothills United Way. Through all the name changes and changes in our community, there has been one constant: United Way has been there to help, offer a hand up, and to create positive, lasting change in our community.

Foothills United Way is hosting a celebration of its 90th year next Friday, Nov. 9 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield. The fun starts at 6 p.m. next Friday with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 7. The program will be full of recognition, remembrance and fun, plus a special performance by Boulder’s award-winning FACE Vocal Band.

The Camera is delighted to help spread the word about the United Way during this exciting milestone and in perpetuity.

“Thank you so much for the ad inviting the community to the 90th Anniversary Celebration,” wrote President and CEO Barbara Pingrey. “We very much appreciate not only this generosity, but all the support you show for the community throughout the year.”

Don’t miss this wonderful celebration for Foothills United Way. Tickets are $50 per person, or $375 for a table of 8. Visit unitedwayfoothills.org/90thevent today to reserve your seats.
