College football is the third most popular sport in the United States, behind only the NFL and the Olympics, according to Scarborough Sports Marketing. A whopping 44 million adults are avid college football fans nationally. This is a singularly obsessive yet demographically diverse group; one-of-four fans going through the turnstiles is female, for example (my CU-cheering self included).
