It seems like summer has just begun, but the volunteers at Crayons to Calculators are already hard at work, collecting school supplies for students in need across both the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts. The goal is to distribute over 10,000 backpacks full of supplies to these students before they begin the new school year.
The cost of even the most basic school supplies (all those crayons, pens, pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, and calculators) can really add up, to over $75 per student. That’s a hardship for many financially struggling families.
You can get involved in several ways:
• Make a monetary donation online at crayonstocalculators.org.
• Go to the store and stuff a backpack with all of the supplies on the donor supply list provided by Crayons to Calculators.
• Sign up to volunteer at one of the organization’s backpack-stuffing facilities, in Boulder and Longmont.
Your donations will ensure that these supplies get into the hands of students all across the region who cannot afford these basic supplies. Learn more at crayonstocalculators.org.
