The Boulder County Latina League’s second annual Fiesta de Mayo will be held next Sunday,May 19 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the East Boulder Senior Center (5660 Sioux Drive,
Boulder). The event is the main fundraiser for the Latina League to fund college scholarships for local Hispanic students.

It also promises to be a great time, with catering by Famous Dave’s, entertainment by the Casey Folkloric Ballet Dancers and Tom Yook, and a silent auction. The Boulder County Latina League is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of our future Latina and Latino leaders through advanced educational opportunities. Since 1999, it has awarded more than 230 scholarships totaling more than $192,000. The University
of Colorado has taken the League’s efforts further, providing matching scholarships to all recipients who attend CU. The organization formed a partnership with Impact on Education last year to ensure a solid foundation for the future of League scholarships.

The Camera is proud to sponsor Fiesta de Mayo and the Latina League. “Thank you for your coverage,” wrote Latina League board member Meredith Spear. “We really appreciate all the Camera is doing for us.” We hope you’ll do your part while having fun at Fiesta de Mayo next Sunday.
