Our one-of-a-kind local pep rally for CU Buffs football returns this evening. The Pearl Street Stampedes are back for their 12th season! The Camera is proud to have been a sponsor since the beginning.
The Stampedes take place the evenings before each home game (except for the week of Thanksgiving). These celebrations draw hundreds of Buffs fans to the Pearl Street Mall, and they are a great idea for a family get-together.
Members of the Golden Buffalo Marching Band play to the crowds and stop on each block to perform. Members of the CU football team and coaching staff are greeted with cheers and high fives from fans of all ages.
Led by Stephen Tebo’s vintage 1948 fire truck, the Golden Buffalo Marching Band starts it all off at 7 p.m. tonight on the 1300 block of Pearl Street (in front of the County Courthouse). The moving party then moves west and stops to play for guests at sponsoring business locations.
The Stampedes have been a longtime collaboration between the University of Colorado, local businesses and Downtown Boulder, Incorporated.
Come out and enjoy this only-in-Boulder special event tonight, and every Stampede night. Go Buffs!
