On August 27, 10 outstanding Boulder County community members were presented with Pacesetter Awards for their contributions in the areas of arts and entertainment, business, community service, education, the environment, quality of life, and science, medicine and health.

“I wanted to personally thank you so much for the efforts and the coveted Pacesetter Awards that you sponsor and honor those in the community. The luncheon and awards presentations were fabulous.  Of course, I am especially proud of my husband, Stephen Christopher, for receiving the Award for Arts and Entertainment,” wrote Louise Christopher, development coordinator for Colorado Music Festival & Center for Musical Arts, and proud wife.

“As longtime Boulderites, we certainly appreciate the Camera …. Thanks for all you do! … And thanks for all the support you also give to our nonprofits.”

Our thanks to you, Stephen and Louise, for all the wonderful work you do for our community. It is the Camera’s privilege to helm the Pacesetter Awards and sponsor 120 hard-working local nonprofit organizations every year with our time, talent and more than $2 million of support.

Our community is full of worthy Pacesetter Award candidates. I know because I work with them daily and meet new ones all the time. Nominate your favorite Boulder County standout for a 2014 Pacesetter Award at dailycamera.com/ pacesetters.
