Come swing, eat and be merry with the Rotary Club of Boulder Valley. The 6th annual Summer Sunset Swing Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder. All proceeds from the event will benefit local mental health and family service nonprofits Mental Health Partners, Attention Homes, Ally Youth Services and the Boulder Institute for Psychotherapy and Research.

The format for play is a four-person scramble with two flights: the serious and the not-so-serious. Registration begins at 4 p.m., and the shotgun start is scheduled for 5 p.m. The $125 registration fee includes 9 holes of golf, cart rental, fabulous awards, including a 2013 Cadillac hole-in-one prize, and a whole afternoon and evening of fun.

Non-golfers are invited to join the after-party for $50 per person. Once the sun sets, the Hawaiian-style festivities will really get swinging, including a delicious buffet, dancing, glow-in-the dark golf games, and prizes for the best costumes. There will also be a silent auction with adventures of a lifetime up for bid, as well as fine restaurant certificates, wine and liquors, gift baskets and weekend getaways.

It’s going to be a great time for a great cause. The tournament is limited to 72 players, so reserve your spot today. Contact Kit Hollingshead at or 303.819.1435 to request a registration form.

The Camera is proud to sponsor the Summer Sunset Swing and the Rotary Club of Boulder Valley, as well as many other local community events and organizations.
