Friends, co-workers and families are forming their teams now to participate in the first Boulder Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, August 1 on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. It’s for an important cause, and we can use your support, too.
Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States–and it’s the only cause of death among the top 10 without a way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression. It touches families everywhere, including my own. My mom started showing signs of the disease when she was 65 and recently passed after living for some time in a memory care facility, so this event is very near and dear to my heart.
I am serving on the Boulder Walk Committee and the Camera is sponsoring this event. I would love for you to join me in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. Here’s how you can get involved:
• Start or join a team: by registering at ColoradoAlzWalk.org.
• Become a sponsor: Contact me at stravolemosj@dailycamera.com to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association and have a profound impact on the movement to end Alzheimer’s!
• Volunteer: We’re looking for volunteers to assist us on the day of the Walk to make this a great event for everyone.
Come join us. Together we can eradicate this disease!
