I have a special place in my heart for marching bands. One of my daughters is a newly minted percussionist. Watching a marching band in action is big-time, blow-your-hair-back fun. More to the point, fostering musical education is a noble endeavor. And so I’m happy to announce an easy, enjoyable way you can help keep local student musicians marching toward excellence.

The 3rd annual golf tournament to benefit the Centaurus High School Marching Band will be held Friday, June 26 at the Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder. The tournament is an 18-hole scramble with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The $100 registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, a bucket of balls and a drink ticket.

There are some pretty great prizes, too. The top teams/players will win tickets to the regional qualifier for The BIG Tournament, the largest invitational charity golf tournament in the world, courtesy of Dixon Golf. And everyone is eligible to win gift certificates from Leonard’s Golf.

Foursomes are expected to fill up quickly, so reserve your spot today. Contact Nancy Ossorio at nancy.ossorio@centaurusband.org to request a registration form or to find out more information about the tournament.

The Camera and Colorado Hometown Weekly are proud to sponsor the award-winning Marching Warriors’ golf tournament, as well as 120 other local community events and organizations with our time, talent and $2 million of support every year.
