It’s national newspaper week, and we’ve been celebrating around here … by publishing a paper every day. Not much of a celebration, you say? Well, just as there’s no crying in baseball, there’s no sentimentality allowed in the newsroom. There’s just no time.

I’m going to break with tradition in honor of National Newspaper Week though and get just a little sappy:

I have had the privilege of working at the Camera for many years now, and it’s a great way to earn a living. My job allows me to rub elbows with countless talented writers, photographers, graphic artists, technicians, business people and community members. And I feel fortunate to be associated with such interesting, wide-ranging products, from perennial favorites like the Camera, Colorado Daily, Broomfield Enterprise and Women’s Magazine to newer additions such as our comprehensive online offerings and the soon-to-be-published Longmont Ledger.

Crafting a paper every day from scratch

and every minute online is a celebration in its own right. So here’s to National Newspaper Week, to the people who make the news, those who work hard to report it, our advertising partners who support it and, of course, all of you who take the time to consume it in print and/or online. Cheers.
