The Colorado Music Festival (CMF) Young People’s Concerts introduce children to the excitement of live classical music performance with programs that include costumed animals, narration and lively music. This year’s show – The Animated Orchestra – is being performed on Saturday, June 29 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Boulder’s Chautauqua Auditorium.

The Animated Orchestra is a narrated work about a cartoon score being performed at a symphony concert. The hero of the cartoon is a curious and adventurous ferret. A Music Fair, featuring real live ferrets, costumed characters, an instrument petting zoo, face painting, snacks and loads more fun activities, will follow each concert outside the auditorium. In between shows, join CMF for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in the Chautauqua Picnic Pavilion.

The Camera is proud to support CMF throughout the year, and we will be pitching our tent at the Music Fair. So bring your kids, enjoy the music, and be sure to drop by our tent to say hello and score a balloon.

Tickets for The Animated Orchestra are $8 each, or $7 for groups of 10 or more. Boxed lunches and lemonade for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic are $10 per child and $15 per adult. Call 303.440.7666, visit, or go to the box office at Chautauqua to reserve your spot today.
