Every picture tells a story. And historical photos can be full of details that you don’t notice in just one look.

We are embarking on a project to tell the historical stories of the Boulder, Longmont and Loveland communities. There are fascinating stories to tell. Perhaps your family has a part in our local history?

We’re partnering with local historical groups to gather the content. We will be publishing pictorial history books of each area, and inviting our readers to share their own historical photos at scanning sessions.

The scanning sessions start on Weds., May 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Carnegie Library for Local History, 1125 Pine. St., Boulder. Sat., June 2, 10 a.m. to noon at Museum of Boulder, 2205 Broadway. Sat., June 2 at the Lafayette Miners Museum, 108 E. Simpson St., Lafayette, and Tues., June 5 at Wise Homestead Museum, 11611 Jasper Road in Erie.

In the meantime, pull out those family photos and see if you have something to share. These books will be available for sale during the holiday season (a great gift idea for anyone who is interested in our local history).
