Happy Independence Day! Your plans today may include gathering with friends and family for a barbecue or a picnic. This evening, I hope you’ll be among the thousands who will join us for Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast at Folsom Field. We are proud to be a long-time sponsor of this event.
Gates open at 7:45 p.m. and admission is free! There will be lots of entertainment beginning at 8:30 p.m., including performances by the School of Rock, Card Catalog and Pro-Leisure.
You are even invited to join in on the community sing-along, a great way to warm up for the spectacular fireworks show, which will begin as soon as it’s dark (about 9:35 p.m.).
Campus parking is free, but consider car pooling (because this is Boulder, and we do that kind of thing).
Today, when you hear The Stars and Stripes Forever, I hope you’ll feel the stirrings of proud patriotism that I do. Because we still believe in a free citizenry. You have the right to agree, disagree, and read all about it in a free press.
Happy Fourth, everyone.
