Today, I want to send a shout out to our Lyons readers and advertisers (and everyone else who supports flood recovery efforts) for their resilience and efforts in coming back from last year’s floods. There’s an event coming up this weekend you won’t want to miss!

This Saturday, Sept. 13, on the one-year anniversary, Cyclists 4 Community and the Oskar Blues Cand’aid Foundation is presenting Cyclists 4 Lyons/Viva Lyons, a community event to benefit ongoing recovery work. Enjoy great food, craft beer, live music and lots of neighborly hang time.

There’s a full day of family fun and community sharing on the schedule, starting with several bike rides, a silent/live auction, kids area, live music, beer food trucks – even an appearance by Governor Hickenlooper at 5 p.m. And by all means, do join in on the Lyon’s “Group Hug” and help set a new record!

There will be plenty of live music throughout the day, with local groups Laser Bunny, Blake & Groves and Bonnie & The Clydes. Grammy-nominated The Infamous Stringdusters will close out the day with some high-intensity acoustic bluegrass.

You’ll go home happy, I guarantee it.
