Halloween continues to be one of the fastest-growing consumer holidays—a month-long celebration of fall instead of just one night out. Last year’s Halloween spending was expected to hit an average of $86 per person, with total spending reaching $9.1 billion, according to the National Retail Federation.More costumes, home, yard and party decorations than ever will be flying off the shelves as our readers gear up to celebrate.

More than a third of celebrants will start their fall and Halloween shopping in September: 44 percent will shop the first two weeks of October, and 22 percent during the final two weeks.
