Every day I see examples of the Camera’s power to promote, advertise and inform. We are also proud to put this effective platform to work for local community organizations such as Community Food Share.CFS’s Julia McGee just shared the following account from their annual Let’s Bag Hunger campaign, which ran through Nov. 14. I will let her tell the story.

“I wanted you to know, we surpassed our 100,000 meal goal! Thank you for another fantastic year. Your support and promotion made all the difference this year. On the first day, our staff members arrived at one of the Boulder King Soopers, and two women were waiting with the Wednesday newspaper ad in hand, because they were so eager to give their donations!

“We received an impressive amount of first-time donations from donors who read about the dollar-for-dollar match in the Sunday ad. One man came to give his first-ever gift in person, and was brought to tears after touring our warehouse. Your efforts have helped raise 100,840 meals for Boulder and Broomfield counties, and you’ve inspired a giving spirit in so many community members.”

Thank you, Julia, for sharing this great news. And thanks to all the generous people in our community who stepped up to donate such a bounty of provisions for those in need.
