Halloween is one of the fastest-growing holidays, now a month-long celebration of fall instead of just a night out to score free candy. It’s as big a deal for the adults as it is for the kids, creating a sales rush for retailers of Halloween products and services.

Last year’s retail Halloween spending was expected to hit an average of $85 per person, with total spending reaching $8.4B. More costumes, decor and treats than ever will be flying off the shelves as our readers gear up to celebrate.

More than a third of celebrants will start their fall and Halloween shopping in September. Forty-four percent will shop the first two weeks of October and 22 percent shop the last two weeks.

Our Friday Magazine and A&E Spotlight publications are a scarily good way to get the word out for advertisers. There are two special editions:

• Halloween Edition (haunted houses and happenings) magically appears Friday, Oct. 20 and reaches 17,212 Longmont and 16,553 Loveland daily readers.
