One of the things on your Summer Bucket List has got to be the Lafayette Peach Festival.

The community event (the 20th annual) takes place this Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Old Town Lafayette’s Public Road. This one’s a lot of fun, and if you’ve never been, this is the year to start! Picture 2,500 peach smoothies, hundreds and hundreds of fresh peach pies, and wonderful peach cobbler for sale by the serving “while supplies last” (which means, get there early).

There will be food vendors, crafters, antiques, free face painting and artists from the Front Range and Western States showing their finest work. Children’s activities will add to the fun from two locations.

Of course, you can buy great, juicy peaches—just hours off the tree—to take home. Over 30,000 pounds of certified organic peaches from Morton’s Orchard’s and Tate Orchards in Palisade will be available in three locations along Public Rd.

The Daily Camera is proud to be a loyal, longtime sponsor of this tasty event. We invite you to come out and enjoy a wonderful community event designed for the whole family.
