The 2013 Boulder Economic Summit was a smashing success, attracting more than 200 community leaders last month. The summit, hosted by the Boulder Economic Council (BEC), focused on actions that can be taken to better leverage the state’s research assets, create a workforce ready for the future and build strategic partnerships between universities, government and industry. Presenters included CU Chancellor Dr. Phil DiStefano, Senator Mark Udall and Representative Jared Polis.

The Camera is proud to be a perennial sponsor of this unique half-day event that fosters cross-industry connections and frank discussions about local economic issues.

“Thank you very much for the Daily Camera’s generous support of the 2013 Boulder Economic Summit … [and] helping make [the] event such a success,” wrote BEC’s Clif Harald. “Your media sponsorship made the event possible, and your willingness to support the summit really highlighted the leadership of BEC members in taking on important issues facing Boulder and the state.”

The BEC is dedicated to growing, retaining and attracting businesses that reflect Boulder’s values and contributing to the economic sustainability of the community. Organizing the Boulder Economic Summit is only one way the BEC fulfills this mission. Visit bouldereconomiccouncil.org for more information.
