The Open Door Fund is a permanent endowment of The Community Foundation that raises money and distributes grants for programs that enhance the lives of local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people. Since its founding in 1996, the fund has made grants totaling over $475,000 to vital agencies and programs like Out Boulder, Boulder County AIDS Project, CU’s GLBTQ Resource Center, PFLAG and more.

On Saturday, April 6, the Open Door Fund held its 16th annual fund-raising dinner at the St Julien Hotel in Boulder. This year’s guest speaker was social activist and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. The Camera was pleased to sponsor the event.

“It was a huge success, in no small part thanks to our generous sponsors,” wrote Bob Morehouse on behalf of the Open Door Committee. “A heartfelt thanks to the Camera for its continued support of the Open Door Fund.”

The Camera is proud to sponsor the Open Door Fund, as well as 120 other hard-working local nonprofit entities, with our time, talent and more than $2 million of support. We have been long-time supporters and admirers of the fund and its work for our community.
