1-18-2013 12-13-37 PM   I frequently talk about the power of the Camera in terms of helping businesses. But sometimes it’s personal.

Superior resident Chuck Parks was turning 80 on December 24, and his kids wanted to make it a special day. So they placed this ad in the Camera asking the community to shower him with written birthday wishes. It was a smashing success.

“I talked to Dad on the 18th and he was very surprised and very happy,” his son wrote to Camera multi-media consultant Michael Diehl. “He received a few cards from people he was in grade school with and hadn’t seen or talked to in years. He’s been catching up with them and others he hasn’t seen in years as well.  As of Christmas day, he said he received 18 or 19 cards.  More than he has ever gotten at one time.

“Thanks for your help in making Dad’s birthday a very special one!”

My thanks to all of you for making the Camera our community’s No. 1 source for news that matters – like Chuck Parks’ big day. Congratulations and happy belated birthday, Mr. Parks.
