The Daily Camera is honored to work with over 100 nonprofit organizations each year. This often includes public service performed by our outstanding staff. One special person, Alan Crandall, was recently recognized in the Lafayette City Council meeting for his longtime efforts.

Alan has served on the Lafayette Public Art Committee for ten years, and was instrumental in the inception of the Art on the Street program back in 2008, when it was just a concept. He will be retiring from this volunteer position soon, and we want to give him a heartfelt Thank You for all he has done.

When you walk up and down the streets of Lafayette, you can appreciate his work curating the incredible sculpture along the streets. In his tenure, he helped the collection grow by more than 30 pieces and has taken thousands of photographs to promote this resource.

City Council members said, “He has been a great ambassador for public art events” and “He is an outstanding public servant.” We are proud of our dedicated employees. Hats off to Alan Crandall, a master of the art of giving!
