Food security—the means to provide enough healthy food for your family—can’t be taken for granted, even right here in our home towns. Families with children and seniors can be especially at risk.
Throughout the year, Community Food Share helps ensure that local families have the nutritional support they need. CFS is the food bank for Boulder and Broomfield counties. Non-perishable food and dollars that are donated help restock supplies and get food where it is needed the most.
The winter “Let’s Bag Hunger” fund and food drive needs volunteers to help greet shoppers, pass out bags and encourage folks to give through online money donations, or by filling a bag with a basic list of groceries.
Shifts are two-and-a-half to three hours long, and are a fun way to meet people who share your care for our neighbors. This event is a great idea for local community service groups, churches, or groups of neighbors. The Daily Camera is proud to be a longtime partner of this event.
