Some Colorado families go back several generations here. Is yours one of them?
We are embarking on a project to tell the historical stories of the Boulder, Longmont and Loveland communities. There are fascinating stories to tell. And there are some great historical picture out there, too.
We’re partnering with local historical groups to gather together a pictorial history of of these communities. We will be publishing pictorial history books of each area, and inviting our readers to share their own historical photos at scanning sessions.
The scanning sessions start on Weds., May 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Carnegie Library for Local History, 1125 Pine. St., Boulder. Sat., June 2, 10 a.m. to noon at Museum of Boulder, 2205 Broadway. Sat., June 2 at the Lafayette Miners Museum, 108 E. Simpson St., Lafayette, and Tues., June 5 at Wise Homestead Museum, 11611 Jasper Road in Erie.
Now is the time to pull out those boxes of family photos and see if you have something to share. These books will be available for sale during the holiday season (a great gift idea for local history buffs).
