Each year the Boulder Rotary Club sponsors a Service Above Self Award, established to recognize Boulder County residents who best exemplify Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self—someone who has shown extraordinary service to the community within their organization or to other community service groups.
This outstanding achievement is consistent with the ideals of Rotary as expressed in the Service Above Self motto of Rotary that “belief that Rotarians would put their duty to help others before their own needs.”
This year’s focus of the award is on volunteering.
Community members have nominated candidates for the award and the winner will be announced tonight at the Service Above Self Boulder Rotary Award Dinner.
The winner will receive a cash award of $ 1,000.00 that will be donated to the non-profit of their choice. Runner-up awards will also be presented.
The dinner, held at the Boulder Country Club, begins at 6:30 p.m.
One student between the ages of 14 and 21 will be selected to receive the award as well.
