Have you seen the artsy buffaloes “grazing” around downtown this summer? They are all part of Buffaloes of Boulder, a Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI) ongoing project to enhance the downtown district landscape for locals and visitors alike.

Artists from the Boulder community were invited to create works of art on a buffalo shape (made of plywood) which are on display throughout the summer in planters and in front of businesses throughout the downtown district.

The public can even bid to take a favorite buffalo artwork home for their very own. The artists will donate 50 percent of the final auction bid to the DBCI to support their initiatives.

Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI) (formerly known as the Downtown Boulder Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in 2017. The organization’s mission is to engage visitors and locals alike through arts, culture, innovation and inclusive, community-driven experiences in downtown Boulder.

The Buffaloes of Boulder online auction runs through Sunday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. MDT. To place your bid, go to BuffaloesOfBoulder.com.
