The Emergency Family Assistance Association has been helping at-risk families in Boulder County since 1918.
EFAA now sees the direct impact that this pandemic is having on many local families—and it’s sobering.
“The people who have been hit the hardest are the ones who were struggling the most, working low-wage jobs that did not allow them to build up any savings,” says Frankie Ryder, EFAA communications coordinator. “Those who did have savings to use for the past few months are running out.”
EFAA is now the leading provider of emergency COVID-19 assistance in the county, distributing over $800,000 in financial assistance and over 20,000 food bags to people in need. With government support uncertain and jobs disappearing, many families will continue to need assistance for the near future.
Donations are the lifeline of EFAA’s work. I encourage you to help them help others by giving at efaa.org/donate. Every gift matters! The Daily Camera is proud to partner with EFAA and support their work to improve the lives of so many, right here in our community.
